She knew all the words to the songs on the radio.
He never understood what they meant.
Until he watched her and he knew
That whatever poet originally crafted those words
Couldn’t even touch every intention that was borne from her soul
And died again in reaction with air as it fell from her lips.
As if a whole world existed in the vibration of her tongue,
He didn’t know the words,
But he knew the song.
